Life, oh life, a precious gift
So full of wonder, pain, and joy
But what is the purpose, we must sift
Through the tapestry of this great ploy
Is it to love and be loved in return
To find success and climb to great heights
To leave a mark and make a discern
Or is it simply to live, in each moment's delights
The morning sun, a warm embrace
The scent of flowers, a sweet delight
The sound of laughter, a joyful trace
All these things, a reason to ignite
The taste of food, a pure delight
The touch of a loved one, a soothing balm
The sight of beauty, a breathtaking sight
All these things, a reason to calm
But with life comes death, a truth we must accept
A reminder of our own mortality
Yet it's in the face of death, we find life's depth
And the beauty of it all, a clarity
So what is the purpose, the great design
Is it for us to simply exist
Or to seek out, a deeper divine
To live a life, we can't resist
Perhaps the purpose of life is different for all
A unique journey, for each of us to roam
But one thing is certain, through it all
Life means more than death, and that's our home.
