Not Home To See Christmas Morning

'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there

But I, dear friend, was not home to see
The sunrise on Christmas morning, so merrily
For I was far away, on a distant shore
Thinking of you, and missing you more

But though I may not be there to see the light
I'm with you in spirit, day and night
Merry Christmas to you, and to all those near
May your holiday be filled with cheer and good cheer

So raise a glass, and let's toast to love and peace
To being together, and never having to cease
The joy and the magic of this special time
May it be yours, now and always, mine and thine
